KoDam Kitchen is the only good Thai restaurant we came across during our stay in Ao Nang.
We're not saying there aren't other good Thai restaurants, but unfortunately we didn't find them.

KoDam Kitchen is a restaurant that consists of two parts. The first part, which we write about here, is an a la carte restaurant with at least 100 seats, where reservation of a table is very desirable. The second part, right next to it, is a walk-in restaurant that mainly sells grilled dishes, again with at least 100 seats.
We found KoDam Kitchen through the internet because it is 100 meters from our hotel, the Krabi La Playa Resort. But guests of the hotel were also very enthusiastic about this restaurant.
The menu contains, except for a children's section, only Thai dishes that are very varied and very reasonable in price. We never paid more than 1000 Thb for three dishes and two bottles of beer.

The first acquaintance immediately went smoothly, we walked to the restaurant towards the end of the morning to reserve a table. We immediately clicked with the man who spoke to us, it later turned out to be the manager, and also with an older, bald man, KoDam himself. So reservation went well.
In the evening we immediately got the table reserved for us, no waiting or anything. Outside, at the entrance, at least 20 people, who had not reserved, were waiting for a table, waiting time 10 to 30 minutes.
The drinks were brought quickly, the order was taken the moment we had made our choice, no rush and fuss. The food was also on the table quickly, 10 to 15 minutes. The portions are neither too small nor too big, depending on the amount of appetite, two to three dishes are enough for two people. And, very important, the food tastes as it should with the dishes we ordered.
When the food is finished and the table is cleared, we can sit as long as we want, even now no pushing to clear the table.
